I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts are my own.  This post contains affiliate links.

Anybody that even casually knows my husband knows about his phobia of vomit.  It was okay when it was just us, but when the kids came along, things changed.  I’ll totally give him props for manning up many times when I wasn’t able to do it myself, like the time my then 4 year old son puked all over both him and myself in a cloth recliner when I was about 8 months pregnant.  Still, we try very hard to keep this occurrences to a minimum (like 0).

I know that good gut health is the first step in fighting off stomach bugs, so we’ve relied on various probiotic supplements.  Many of the products I bought were not meant for children, so I was a bit hesitant to give it to them.  So I was very happy to find out about liquid Zahler’s Kidophilus, available right on Amazon.

I tasted this first to see if it was terrible, but it wasn’t bad – we’ve had much worse tasting medicines.  Then I started doling it out to the two older kids (since this is meant for those 4 and older, I didn’t give any to my 2 year old).  The directions state to take 1 teaspoon two times a day.  I was happy with remembering to get it to them once so that works for us.  And Zahler? Thanks for including the measuring cup!  That is a little touch that really shows that the company cares about their customers.

Since starting taking Kidophilus a few weeks ago, there have been no real stomach upsets (knock on wood).  Also, my children tend to be very…gassy, and that seems to have lessened a bit.  While I’m not sure I would give this to my children year-round, I will continue to use it through the winter months.  I would also use it if my children had to go on antibiotics to help lessen the effect that those drugs have on the digestive system.

Kidophilus is dairy and soy free.  It is also a kosher product for those that have to take that into consideration.  A big thumbs-up to Zahler for keeping this product accessible to many!

A big bonus is that I can buy this on Amazon and have it in two days with my Prime membership.  So Kidophilus tastes okay, helps keep kids’ digestive systems balanced, and can be purchased without leaving the house.  I’m sold!
