My wife and I were both retail managers the first Christmas after we married, and putting in many, many hours. We were both exhausted, and neither of us had even taken the time to wrap our gifts for each other. Christmas eve, we collapsed on the couch, and took turns reaching into bags and handing each other our unwrapped gifts, price tags, receipts and all. We ate crackers and cheese, then slept until about noon. 21 years together, and I remember that best. It was great.
