I’m giving away a hardcover copy of A Christmas Gift for Rose by Tricia Goyer!

Inspired by a true story, A Christmas Gift for Rose is a heartwarming novella of sacrifice and deep love.

Born in the midst of the hardships of The Great Depression, Rose grew up in Berlin, Ohio, in the arms of a loving Amish family. But she is overwhelmed by self-doubt when she learns the truth of her birth. She was born Englisch and abandoned when her family moved West in search of work. Was she meant to be Amish or would she have been better off growing up with her own kind—Englischers? And was her intended’s gift of discovering her birth family given out of love or fear?

Don’t miss award-winning author Tricia Goyer’s first Christmas novella.

I reviewed this book last October and absolutely loved it.  It’s sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

Just a note – I did read this book once but it is in very good to like new condition.  It does come from a home with cats so please take that into consideration if that’s an issue for you.

To enter, just leave me a comment below telling me:  What has been your favorite gift to GIVE ever?  Maybe you gave your girlfriend a diamond ring or your child a toy he really wanted.  I just want to hear your stories!

Giveaway is open to US residents ages 18 and older.  Giveaway ends Monday, 11/30/14 at 11:59pm EST.  Don’t forget to see the list of all the participating bloggers directly below.  Good luck!

My son loved the color purple. So one year I bought a 3 foot tree and every purple, silver, gold ornament that I could find plus lights and garland. He woke up on his 16th Christmas to this tree being on the kitchen table. Ten years later his tree has grown and he is now a new dad and he still decorates his tree in purple!!!

A few Christmas’ ago my boyfriend’s work was doing an Angel Tree like Gift Exchange Program where you choose a child’s angel off the tree then pick out some gifts for them based on their age & what the card says they like! We picked out a 9 or so year old girl who liked Princesses. So I went all out and bought tons of stuff with Princesses on them. Things like a puzzle, a fuzzy poster, a doodle pad, some Disney Princess Figurines and such! Anything & everything I could find! Giving this present to someone I didn’t know made me feel a connection to my Gramma May who had passed away a few years before that. She ran the Angel Tree program at our Church & I knew I was making her proud! That’s what made this gift the best gift I had ever given!

The best gift I ever gave was to my hubby. His gift was our son. One year on his birthday he made a comment that I should get pregnant on his birthday. Well 2 months later we find out I was pregnant and that I did in fact get pregnant on his b-day. And to this day he still tells me that was the best gift ever.

I love to gift silver 1 ounce coins because they are pretty and if the person becomes desperate they will have some monetary value

  54. 11

It’s not one gift, but our first year as grandparents was probably the most exciting for us. After years of being empty-nesters, we were shopping for baby toys again. We must have gotten a little carried away, because in the pictures our grandson looks a bit overwhelmed. lol

    Judy Cox

My 17 year old (now) grandson got all sorts of items for Christmas when he was about 5, but I gave him a toy chainsaw that made noise and the blades moved, and the minute he opened this one present he ran outside and started cutting one of our trees. It was so cute, he loved that toy. It was a great moment for all of us.

My favorite gift I ever gave was a puppy to my dad! He had lost his beloved Boston Terrier about four years prior and always wanted another one, but just wouldn’t get himself one. So my mom, sister, brother and I all get in on it together and got one for my dad. He came home from work and we sent him on a scavenger hunt. We took Polaroid pictures all over the house and outside, etc. We gave him an envelope that had a picture of the mailbox in it. He had to go out there to get his next clue. He finally ended up in my brother’s bedroom…my dad opened the door, saw the puppy sitting in a cage on the bed and he literally fell to his knees and sobbed. It’s one of the very few times I’ve ever seen my dad cry. It was the sweetest and most precious thing ever.

My husband and I had our first christmas and had no money. But he somehow got enough to buy a tiny jewlery box that was the size of a half dollar. It was silver with red felt inside. It meant more than any gift I have gotten in the 39 years we have been married

I love to give books, but they are so difficult. You really have to know someone well before you can choose a book for them. My second favorite is always something hand-created in the kitchen.
