Pletuko Pony Pink Baby Boots #pletukobabyshoes

I received the product mentioned below in order to provide an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

My 19-month-old daughter loves shoes.  She loves to play with them, look at them and mostly wear them.  She doesn’t care if they fit or not (ie anybody else’s shoes are fair game) but we prefer she wears her own.  I was starting to wonder what she would don in the ways of footwear this winter when I was notified that I was being sent a pair of the Pony pink baby boots from Pletuko Baby Shoes.

These boots are different because they use zippers and not laces or fasteners.  The shoe basically splits in half on order to make it easier to put the shoe on a wiggly toddler foot.

From the Pletuko website:

  • 100% non-toxic genuine leather
  • Textured, flexible, soft rubber sole – slip resistant
  • Zipper closure- No laces to trip over
  • Meticulously hand-sewn for ultimate durability
  • Pediatricians approved and recommended
  • Made in Europe
  • 100% fine woolen sheepskin breathes, wicking heat and moisture away to keep little feet dry and warm.

I ordered the moccasin boot in 18-24 month size.  As I mentioned before, my little girl is just barely 19 months and these do fit perfectly.  If your child has a larger foot, I don’t know that these would fit as they seem to run a bit small.  However, they fit E perfectly and she was in love!

I loved that the zippered style ensured that her foot was all of the way in and meant no trying to jam her heel in.  Also, while the zipper took a bit of finesse, I like that this ensures that she will not be able to take these off herself.  I hate driving in the car and having shoes thrown at me.

A disadvantage I could see is a sock getting caught in the zipper.  Also, my husband’s first thought was the zipper getting all icky in bad weather, then having that mess transferred to the foot or sock when taking the boot off.  I think we’ll just be extra careful to clean off the soles before we take them off.  Overall, we are all very happy with these boots so far.

One fact about the company makes me even happier:  for every pair of children’s walking shoes you buy, Pletuko donates a dollar to Feed the Children, which will supply food for a hungry child for 5 days.  I love making a difference and companies that help people in need.
