Welcome to the Spring Fling Giveaway Hop, hosted by Eve’s Fan Garden and I Am A Reader, Not A Writer.  This hop features over 150 book bloggers all giving away wonderful prizes!  There’s a list of all of the blogs at the end of this post.

It’s a happy coincidence that the book I’m bringing you has the mention of flowers in the title.  I’m so happy that spring seems to finally have arrived int he Hudson Valley of New York – I hope you’re enjoying it as much as I am!

Anyway, I’m giving away a signed copy of A Rose for My Mother by Nancy Lee Canfield.

Here’s a description for you:

A Rose for My Mother chronicles Canfield’s turbulent childhood and her awakening to paranormal phenomena.  A Rose forMy Mother is an intriguing blend of memoir and the study of parapsychology.
Author, Nancy Lee Canfield is born in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1938. She experiences psychic abilities from the time she is a small child, and her abilities open as she faces various challenges in her childhood, including her parents’ poverty and heavy drinking and her going in and out of an orphanage and five foster homes all before the age of thirteen. At seventeen, Nancy finds herself in a loveless marriage with Joe, a twenty-three year old construction worker. However, Joe is physically and emotionally abusive, and very controlling. By the age of nineteen, Nancy is pregnant with her third child. They start a construction company, which becomes very successful and they become quite wealthy. Nancy stays in the marriage for the sake of the children.
Her psychic abilities cotinue to expand, as she studies psychic development. Her reputation as a paranormal investigator grows and she is invited to participate in the 50th anniversary seance of Harry Houdini. Shortly after that, Nancy has an awakening moment of what true love is, when, as her mother lies dying in the hospital, her father enters the room with a single rose, signifying that he has always loved her mother and always will. Nancy makes a promise to herself that someday she too will find true love.

I prefer to read print books. I have a Nook and when I bought it I thought cool I can get my books instantly. But then I noticed the E-books are practically the same price as print and sometimes more. I keep my books and have built up quite a library of them. I just love the feel of the book, love looking at the covers, flipping through the pages, the smell of a brand new book. So definitely LOVE print books over e-books! Thank you for a chance to win and for being a part of this fun and awesome blog hop!!

Physical books! I like the feel of them and also I can concentrate better when reading a physical book than an ebook. In an ebook, it’s harder to perform deep reading.

I prefer ebooks, because I travel a lot, but physical books allow me to do book swaps with friends that don’t have ereaders. I also notice how much I miss the feel and smell of a physical book if I haven’t read one in a while.
