I Have PeopleI Have People

by Taylor Dean

Paperback, 366 pages

Published September 19th 2012 by Create Space

Premise:

Missing any memories?

Holly Sinclair is happily married to the love of her life, Gabriel. Young and in love, Holly hopes to have their first child soon. Of course, Gabriel wants to wait till Holly’s health is restored, much to Holly’s dismay. She feels perfectly fine. So what if she just woke up from an eight-month coma? So what if some of her memories are missing? She remembers Gabe and that’s all that matters, right?

That is, until HE enters her life again . . . she forgot about HIM.

Smashwords * Barnes & Noble * Amazon:

I have to warn you – if you are at all sensitive to descriptions of abuse, then you might want to pass on this book.  However, I have to say it’s a bit eye-opening that Holly felt that if she wasn’t actually hit by her abuser, then she wasn’t being abused.  I can imagine that this may be thought by other people in similar situations.  I’m also worried about the portrayal of Mr. Sinclair as an angel.  While he truly is one, far too many women don’t have that kind of support to help them get out of abusive situations.  Looking at Cal’s ex-wife makes that clearly evident.  I know this is meant to be a love story, but I find it a bit unrealistic.

At first, I was a bit confused about the title.  It didn’t seem to fit what I was reading, because I was thinking of it as a celebrity saying “I have people”, like people in places, in a bragging way.  But as we get to learn more about Holly’s friend Angela, I found where it was coming from and thought it was a clever and well-thought-out title.  However, it’s inclusion in the epilogue seemed totally unnecessary, like the author was pointing out how well the title fits now that Holly’s life has changed for the better.

And now I feel badly about getting down on this book.  It was a fairly clean romance that I enjoyed reading.  While not overly remarkable, it was not terrible by any means and a book that I would pass along to friends with a good recommendation, which I can do for you by directing you to the giveaways below!  Also, be sure to check out the tour schedule below to see features about this book and reviews from other bloggers.

A penny earned is worth absolutely nothing! What to do with a penny? :0

Cloud Ten. That is so darn cute! Our cliche saying is, “Kill them with kindness.” and we accidentally mix up our words to make silly new ones all the time. 🙂

My mother always used to say, “Take two. They’re small.” How about, “Take two. They’re hers.”

My favorite is; watch your pennies, because your dollars are big enough to take care of themselves.
