Who the bleep is Literary Winner?

Share Button

I have to apologize – I kind of just popped up here a few months ago and most of you have no idea who I am.

Some of you may realize from my cross-promotion that I am also the voice behind Tethered Mommy, a blog that has been kicking around for over 2 years.  Why did I start blogging there (which in turn will tell you why I started blogging here)?

When my son was born in May 2008, we had a terrible time learning to nurse.  He would be stuck on me for a long time.  Well, in order to pass that time, since I have an inability to just sit and do nothing, I started surfing the web.  In the process of doing that, I found this ginormous blog hop.  I can’t even remember the name, but it was hundreds upon hundreds of blogs all hosting a giveaway at the same time during the same week.  And I was like, wow, I can win stuff?  The odds were much lower than instant win or other contests/sweepstakes sponsored by large companies and the prizes looked cool.  So I entered.

Fast forward to early 2010 and I’m thinking – hey, what’s to stop me from starting a review and giveaway blog?  I started Tethered Mommy in late March/early April 2010 and never looked back.  Unfortunately, I ran into some health issues in March 2011 and had to take a step back.  But in that past year, Tethered Mommy has grown enormously.

But I wanted something a bit smaller.  So I started Literary Winner.  Originally this was going to be all book reviews and giveaway notifications, NOT me hosting them.  But I figured, it’s all winning, right?  And if I can help you by having you all have giveaways to enter RIGHT HERE, that’s even more helpful!  So I’ve evolved a bit from my original vision but I think you all like it.  And my growth in less than 3 months has been enormous – more than I could ever dream of.  But I also know more about social media now and have some awesome bloggy friends to help me out.

Where is each blog going?  I don’t know.  Time will tell.  One blog was enough of a drain on my time.  Two is even harder – one is always getting neglected.  And then there’s the kids.  And the fact that there is another on the way, due on 1/31/13.  But I love winning and love getting books to read ahead of publication date and for free, so I’ll work hard through those hard months to try to keep up.  And who knows – maybe I’ll wind up nursing this one and trying to post!

I wrote this post because my friend at MamaNYC tagged me in her story about her blog’s beginnings.  So I’m tagging some other blogger friends to find out how their blogs started (I honestly don’t really know!).  Please do give them a visit!  If I’ve tagged you with trackback, please do continue on the theme, and copy what I (and MamaNYC) did.

This consists of the amazing 64 OUNCE pitcher made from 100% BPA-free substantial-density polycarbonate,
the long lasting and effortless to clean base, and the large-duty tamper.

While it would be nice if I didn’t have to water down my green smoothies, I’ve been completely
satisfied with the product so far, and it makes a great gift, especially for
family members who want to work more fruits and vegetables into
their diets but don’t want to deal with the hassle of juicing.
As an example, the upper bedroom wall decal has
a brass bed illustration when the starter furniture set offers a canopied bed.

And, yes, I did forget to mention that your story sounds a lot like mine! And my son was born in 2008, too! Congrats on the baby on the way!
