Yes, I know it’s the LAZY Days of Summer Hop, but you can’t get too lazy in the summer! So I’m giving away three copies of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Say Hello to a Better Body!: Weight Loss and Fitness for Women Over 50 by Dr. Suzanne Koven of Harvard Medical School.
I know the title of this book says for women over 50 but I don’t think that’s necessarily true. I read a few pieces and found the motivation that the woman writing used, such as taking it one day/class at a time, really is inspirational for those of any age. If women with bad knees can get up and moving, even in little ways, then I think I can get my butt up off the couch and walk around a bit.
I read stories from women whose kids had gone vegan and influenced a new, healthier diet. There were tales of women who took nightly walks with her husband that helped them stay fit and have their time together, even while raising three girls. And then there was the 92 year old woman. Yes, you read that right. 92. If she can do Pilates, I think, me being 60 years her junior, can manage something. In fact, this book has inspired me to get up and get moving.
