I’ll admit it – I’m often stressed. And usually for no good reason. What rolls off other people’s backs, bugs me and gets me riled up. I know stress isn’t good, we all know that. It also stresses out those around us when we’re stressed out. So I was glad to receive a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Say Goodbye to Stress: Manage Your Problems, Big and Small, Every Day, a new book in the popular Chicken Soup for the Soul franchise.
In this book, I found so many different tales of how others beat their stress. From working moms who used pre-made food items to cut down on time away from her kids, to a teenager who used lists to show what schoolwork he needed to do, and even a woman using Lamaze breathing to get through moving and her son’s wedding, I learned a lot about how people cope.
This book also contains other stress-relieving techniques from Dr. Jeff Brown. He talks about such stressful situations as grief, spirituality and its aid in stress-reduction and signs of stress, among other topics and techniques. I found a lot of things to help me think and change my life to be less stressful and harmful to myself.
